To mark the start of 40th Year Celebrations Addiction NI are encouraging you to stick the kettle on and have a cuppa to raise funds for Addiction NI.
Addiction NI is delighted to be celebrating our 40th Anniversary. Over the past 40 years we have developed and adapted our services to meet the changing need of our clients and to ensure everyone has access to the support they need.
Despite the fantastic service provided by Addiction NI and the growing demand for our services it can still be a challenge to gain support from the general public due to the shame, stigma and misconceptions surrounding alcohol and/or drug dependency and who is affected.
We are calling on everyone who has benefitted from our services directly or indirectly, anyone who understands the importance of our work and anyone who wants to challenge the ongoing stigma surrounding alcohol and drug problems to host a tea party.

Addiction NI is not a charity which easily attracts support due to the stereotypes associated with alcohol and drug dependency. The truth is that alcohol and drug dependency does not discriminate and can affect anyone regardless of age, sex or ethnicity, and can strike at any stage of life.
It is a very real problem with approximately 1in 13 people in N.Ireland affected by alcohol and/or drug misuse. Alcohol is not viewed as a drug in N.Ireland despite the fact that it is the most common form of substance abuse.
