As a leading counselling, support and information service for people affected by alcohol and drug use, we are ideally placed to bring our expertise to wellbeing across a wide range of services. We have developed a number of bespoke, evidence-based wellbeing programmes and specialist interventions to support people across Northern Ireland to reduce harm and work towards their own recovery goals.
Our specialist addiction Counsellors provide a range of interventions and therapeutic support to individuals impacted by substance use.
We understand that many people are nervous about coming for help for the first time. We aim to help you feel comfortable in our centres.
‘I rang many times before having the courage to make an appointment. The girl on the phone helped me realise I was an OK person. I felt guilty about my alcohol problem. She is a great girl, so is my counsellor.’
When you see your counsellor for the first time, they will discuss your needs with you and your goals and aims for addressing your problem. This may involve beginning a treatment programme at Addiction NI.
‘Find here very secure and welcoming. Staff are always helpful and pleasant. You can relax more easily here than in a clinical-looking place.’
If you do begin a treatment programme at Addiction NI, you’ll receive treatment and counselling on an individual basis. You’ll see the same person throughout your period of attendance.
Your treatment programme is tailored to meet your own circumstances. Our aim is to give you the professional support you require – it’s up to you to decide whether you wish to do what is suggested. You are an active participant in your treatment programme.
‘I am making progress I wouldn’t have believed possible two months ago.’
‘I have had dealings with other services but I would put Addiction NI way ahead on the help and understanding that they give you. Addiction NI provides an excellent service.’
